La Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood (HFPA, por sus siglas en inglés) acaba de anunciar sus nominaciones para los Globos de Oro 2023 y la cinta favorita es la comedia irlandesa “The Banshees of Inisherin”.
El filme de Martin McDonagh competirá en 8 categorías incluyendo: mejor película, mejor dirección y mejor guión en la antesala de los Óscar.
A diferencia de los Premios de la Academia, la HFPA separa varias categorías en drama y comedia. De manera que “The Banshees of Inisherin” figura como favorita en comedia, pero para la categoría de drama hay una competencia interesante entre filmes de James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, Baz Luhrmann, Todd Field y Joseph Kosinski que llegó volando con el taquillazo, “Top Gun: Maverick”.
Se destaca que Brendan Fraser sí logró una nominación a mejor actor por el drama “The Whale” a pesar de su documentada historia de diferencias con la organización que dirige los Globos de Oro. La HFPA no ha estado ausente de controversia en los últimos años y el pasado mes de setiembre su presidenta anunció que la organización “sigue comprometida con cambios importantes y programas de apoyo que priorizan la diversidad, la inclusión y la transparencia”.
